Richard Wright
Owner / Head Chef
He has served canapés at Michael Parkinson’s house party and barbecued chicken for Liam Gallagher: Richard got his first taste for cooking at school (where he made cakes) did his training in his home town of Harrogate and earned his stripes in the Home Counties working in West Hendred in Oxfordshire, the Red Lion in Upper Basildon and the original gastro pub, The Crooked Billet at Stoke Row near Henley on Thames.
He has catered at Royal Ascot at Cheltenham Gold Cup, and was chef consultant at the nearby Craven Arms for four years before taking over management and cooking at The Brasserie in The Courtyard.
Probably characterised by his seemingly endless energy and enquiring mind, Richard has a passion for provenance, always delighting in finding exciting new local produce. His style is playful, inventive and unpretentious.
